Edo G ‘Threes’ Boston Hand Symbol Video/ Welcome To Beantown 4 Preview… ‘Threes and Trees’ is a Boston thing. You can see people throughout Boston, and now the rest of Massachusetts, throwing up the ‘Threes’ hand sign during pictures or while giving dap to someone else. Well I decided to ask legendary Boston rapper Edo G about ‘Threes’ and where it came from.

Now of course this is around 25 years ago that ‘Threes’ began to blow up in Boston so of course there are other theories…
‘The hand quirk is an urban signal respecting three, established areas of Boston. Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan.’
And after Paul Pierce got in trouble for throwing up an identical threes hand symbol in a playoff basketball game, it was said the Boston Celtics players were holding up three fingers to represent “Blood, sweat and tears.” Although others still believe Pierce wasn’t throwing up ‘Threes’ but instead the bloods gang sign.
